Around the Hospital Parking
Today we (me and my 4 year old son) have spent a lot of time walking around the hospital parking.
His main target when walking is to spot ambulance cars. He likes their flashing lights and loud noise.
When we walk, we talk, argue, clash and have arguments too.
I grab such moments to learn about him, what he likes, what he doesn’t like and what is going on inside his mind.
I like his strong personality when he argues with me where to walk, his preference to walk in the sun and avoid noisy crowds.
When we talk, I notice his curiosity about everything and his interest to explore and discover. It caught my attention when he said: I prefer to go in the car and not the bus. The bus is crowded with people and I don’t like noise.
Finally, when walking, it is a chance for me to sink deep in nature, reflect about life and living and be fully present. The view of trees and bushes. The beautiful changing colours of blue, orange and red in the sky during sunset. Feeling the cold and soft breeze. Watching people chatting and cars moving. Embracing the moon’s view and its light brightening the black sky. Those all are precious natural gifts that we are being unconditionally given and we often forgetfully take for granted.
