What’s for you and what’s not?
We often want to control everything. We want things and situations to meet our specific set of expectations. We want to control outcomes and perfect them.
In such a scenario, I like asking myself: What’s for me and what’s not for me?
For example, for my son’s treatment and recovery process for his scoliosis and kyphosis disease, I internally think: What if this treatment didn’t workout for him? What other treatments he needs in the future? What could happen to him in the future?
Then I reflect back: What’s for me and what’s not for me? The future is not for me as I don’t own it and neither can control it. The success of treatments is actually not in my hands as I don’t bring goodness and harm to myself or others.
However, what’s for me is: Believe this is coming from a divine and pure place. This is a test checking our inner beliefs and values. This is a platform where our deeds, patience, actions and words are observed and recorded. This is for our scales in the judgment day to either be heavy or light.
When reflecting this way, you release a lot of unnecessary burdens and tensions from your shoulders. You start feeling peace in the moment. Your mental and emotional wellbeing gets balanced. And best of all, you move on with your current experience with strength, hope, faith, belief, courage and resilience.
