Your Personal Knowing

With all the online and offline distractions we face daily, many times we think: Who I truly am? What am I supposed to be doing? What is the value that personally resonate with me? How can I stay authentic, honest and genuine in this moment?

After crossing many life experiences, I realize that each one of us has got an inner personal knowing. You could call it your guts, instinct or sixth feeling. It is something that only you personally know. It is inside the depth of you.

If you got used to accepting whatever is in front of you like pleasing your family, saying yes to everything and making everyone happy except you, this could be tricky and confusing.

But just come back here, switch off all distractions and noise and sit still and quite for a moment. See what is happening inside you. Watch your breath inhaling and exhaling. Feel your five human senses again. If your thought process wants to pull you out of this state, just come back to your breath.

Here you would slowly get to know your inner knowing bit by bit. It is not straightaway neither straightforward. But gently and gradually like the baby step idea.

If you ask me: Hudham, what is your personal knowing? Well interestingly it is: Spend majority of my time with my family at home. Minimize my time at work. Give up cultural and societal distractions and expectations. Just be myself in this moment, honest, authentic, genuine, generous and solid. And refer to what makes me happy, meaningful and purposeful in this present moment.

Surprisingly your inner knowing could clash with people ideas and perspectives around you. That is fine. What matters is you communicating your values openly and generously, accepting that we all are doing the best we can with the knowledge we have and no two people are alike. Definitely you would find people disagreeing with you and convincing you of their own perspective. That is fine but remembering also to stay solid in the ground and refer to what you stand for and your personal values.
