Forgiveness and Greif
Today, when I was driving to work, I was listening to a talk by Dr. Brene Brown and it struck me hard.
It was about forgiveness and grief. She said in order to forgive and let go, something inside you needs to die. You need to grief it and process it fully to let it go.
No wonder we have so much accumulated wounds and pains inside us. We learned to suppress it, ignore, burry it and move ahead with life. But then, it keeps coming back in the form of tight throat, teary eyes, shortened breath and foggy moments.
The problem with grieving is it needs us to feel the pain and discomfort. And that is something majority avoid.
Finally, the hope in all this is we have the ability to practice courage and bravery. We have the ability to patiently sit with the pain and discomfort, reflect it, understand it and work with it.
