Home as Primary and Out as Secondary for Women
After so much reflection and awareness about my role as a Muslim woman, I realize that majority of my role and impact happen at home. That is where I am near my family and kids.
I see when my kids are well, my home is organized and my routines are organized and sorted out, I become calm, centred and grounded.
I still do lots of awareness around the society stereotypes like: you should work and provide for your family, you should be financially independent, you should do both parts (women part and men part) and on and on.
Then I start logically processing. If I would be out there struggling and finding means for my family to live, then what about my home and kids? Who would take care of the kids? Who would bring up the future generation? Who would create the solid foundation for the next generation?
It is worth it to ask these questions and work with them. So that maybe one day, we women accept our real roles as described by Allah in the Quran.
