My Role as a Teacher
Currently I look at my role as a teacher so differently from before.
Earlier I thought: I teach. I should convey my knowledge, information and experience to the students. I should serve them and do all that I can to empower them do their best in their assessment and tests.
Now especially with AI, Chat GBT and information age, the teacher role changed and evolved. It became more like a facilitator, coach, mentor and practitioner.
You don’t need to read so much and gather a lot of information. You don’t need to be expert in your field and show how smart and intellect you are.
Instead, you need to create a space, an environment where the students get the opportunity to connect, socialize, solve problems together, overcome social boundaries, have real and meaningful conversations and implement important projects.
Once the students get this chance, they become very empowered and inspired to take action, initiate the steps and execute the project they are assigned to.
So don’t think you are behind or not needed because of AI or Chat GBT. Your role is important but has evolved and shifted to another level.
