Photo Shoot in Hospital Parking

It is amazing how kids come up with creative ideas to fill up their free time.

During our daily walking around the parking areas of the hospital, my 4 years old son came up with this habit: Mama, take a photo of that car and send it to Baba.

At the beginning I felt awkward taking photos next to strangers’ cars. But then when I saw how excited he was and focused on the cars he likes (Porsche, GT, sports cars, ambulance cars and police cars), it became an interesting activity to do together.

When I ask him to stand next to the car for the photo shoot, he stands with an attractive posture.

When we go back to the ward, he would turn his bed into a car racing playground. There would be police cars, sports cars and thief cars. He would be role playing those cars so that the police cars would chase the thief cars and put them in jail.

Finally, I learn so much from my son’s behaviors. Just watching him play teaches me to relax, slow down, chill, take it easy, not be too hard on myself and let go of my inner struggles and worries. I wish every parent out there to utilize such opportunities to reflect and learn important lessons.
