Shocking News

Today, 26th January, 2025, is the day we were informed of the following treatment that my 4 years old son needs to go through after removing his halo pelvic traction fixtures.

The treatment is applying a body cast on his body to maintain the new position that his spine and neck received from the traction treatment.

For me the news was a surprise because I expected him to stay in his traction for a longer period of time. But the doctors informed me that the traction gave him excellent result of a straight spine and neck. Before the traction, his height was 84 cm. After 7 weeks of traction, his height now is 101 cm. Thanks Allah.

One part of me is worried: How will they remove his traction fixtures? Will it hurt after he wakes up? Will the cast maintain his improved new position of his spine and neck?

However, another part of me is relieved and happy that he would be finally free from all those metals fixed around his head and pelvic. He would start sitting and doing things independently.

At the end, I can’t really say this is it. It has been and still is a long journey to support him, monitor his growth and provide all the help and support he needs to grow safely.
