Quran as a Shield
After reading several parts of the Holy Book of Quran several times, it feels like a shield created around you.
Why is that? It is because whenever you want to do something or take a step in life, in your mind you refer back to the pages you read in Quran. What Allah says about this topic? What are his intakes and teachings in that area? When you do this private reflection in your mind, you find yourself stepping away from the things that harm you and gravitate towards the things that benefit you.
I like the detailed description and explanation mentioned in Quran. There are several recites that discuss about the nature of our humanity and how weak and vulnerable we are. At the same time, you find several recites where Allah soothes us, comforts us, supports us and accompanies us in every step we choose to take.
And one of the best experiences I like when reading Quran is the emotional journey it comes with. Don’t be surprised when you suddenly start crying or when you feel chills and goosebumps around your body.
From personal experience, reading Quran is like having a conversation with Allah where he tells you stories, assures you are not alone, accepts your weaknesses and reminds you to remember his wisdoms and hold on to his forever truth.
Lastly, if you didn’t yet get into the habit of reading Quran daily, believe me. It is a unique and personalized experience that only you gets to know and feel. It is a combination of mental, emotional and spiritual healing. Open your heart to it. Get curious about its content. Become addicted and attached to it. Because at the end, it would loosen up your tight grip to this earth hotel and strengthen your bond with Allah.
