Tarawih Prayer 2026
It is already mid of Ramadhan in 2026.
The reflection starts with the minute I start walking to the masjid.
Hearing the sound of foot steps of people. Watching people walking to masjid. Noticing the full glowing moon in the black sky.
Upon entering the masjid, many women and girls are sitting and waiting for Isha’a prayer to start. The women praying area has the luban scent, so cooling and grounding.
While I am there sitting, I see other women. Some are reading Quran. And others are doing thikir.
The scene of women reading Quran gets into me deeply. In that moment I reflect: We humans are in such a blessed position being privileged to read the Holy Book of Quran. We are here. We think we are far from Allah. We don’t see Allah or hear his voice. But then reading Quran. It is indeed Allah talking to us, guiding us, inspiring us, calming us down and revealing to us the truth in so many areas.
Then I hear the Imaam starts praying and we all stand and follow the Imaam. The standing of all of us women next to each other, performing ruku, sujood, tashahhud, reciting the same Surat, worshiping and sinking into the prayer.
In that moment, I see all of us equal. Nothing separates us except our deepest faith for Allah.
The best thing about Tarawih prayer is hearing the Imam reciting the Ayaat in the Quran. It is not always the same when you read and another person reads. When you hear the recitation of Quran, it is like someone telling you stories, taking you on a journey to somewhere serene, peaceful and pure.
When we finish with the prayer, we read Dua’a and hear the Imam reading Dua’a also. Al hamdulillah for this blessing. Al hamdulillah.
