A New Chapter in Sur Al Hadid

Mid of June 2026 was the day we shifted to our new home located in Sur Al Hadid.

The shifting was tiring and exhausting. We hired a Banguli team to help us with shifting all our furniture and electronics. They were raugh and many items got scratches and missing screws.

After shifting all our items, it was time to open the boxes and arrange the things. In that process, I got rid of many unwanted items, old, broken and/or not needed.

Every day was a day dedicated for one area in the house. That’s how I focused and managed to complete the process very well. Al hamdulillah.

Then it was the process to understand the operation of the house like electricity, the water drainage in bathrooms, the switches (which ones for what) and to get rid of ants and lizards that still we are facing.

Another part that is important is understanding our daily routines in the house. When we wake up. When we prep the meals. When we clean. When we chill in-front of the TV. And when we spend quality time with the family.

The house is located near the beach (just walking distance). So another daily routine is walking towards the beach either early morning or before sun-set time.

With regards to connecting with neighbours, not much I can say. Just hello and hi when walking in the neighbourhood.

Finally I want to note my daughters’ comment: Mama if we had new furniture, that would make our house completely modern.

Then I replied: It doesn’t matter new or old furniture. The house is what matters. Furniture we would eventually buy later without rush or neediness.
