Tomorrow 1st February I officially resume my teaching duties in the university.

This semester insha Allah I will be teaching two HRM related subjects called leadership theory and practice and teamwork management.

At this time, I normally like to organize myself and prepare in advance before I start my classes on 8th Feb 2026.

1st thing that crosses my mind is the delivery plan. What chapters will I be teaching? What assessment tools will be used? What practical skills I will focus on? What would be the duration of teaching for each chapter? What could be my expectations and what could be the students’ expectations?

2nd thing is keeping a reading list for each chapter. I think to make it as a task that students need to complete before coming to class. This can stimulate their critical thinking and discussion as well.

3rd is the out of classroom learning activities that need to happen to foster the students’ learning experiences. Examples could be industrial tours, presentations, teamwork activities inside or outside the classroom, guest speaker sessions or probably teaming up to organize activities.

Finally, even if the academic environment could be discouraging and boring at times, when it comes to students, the space vibes back with lots of energy and enthusiasm. I am not sure how to explain this. It is just when it comes to interaction with the students and causing that shift and impact, everything else just don’t matter. It is the students after all.
