Celebrating National Day with Kids

Yesterday was 18th November 2024. It was the 54th national day for our country Oman.

I was really not in a mood to go out but with the kids so eager and excited to celebrate, we went out for a ride at 7:30 pm with our flags and snacks.

I avoided traffic in Al Hail South but then got stuck in traffic near the entrance of Maabella.

There we saw lots of cars parked and families having picnics and waiting for the fireworks to start.

The families in their cars celebrated by turning on the music, dressing up their kids and waving the Omani flags.

My two daughters, the 13th and 10th year old, couldn’t resist to sit on top of the car and wave their flags. It was lovely to watch the fireworks and everyone celebrating.

My 3 year old son also celebrated with his little lollipop and small flag. When he was watching the fireworks silently, his eyes said a lot. I looked at him in that moment and prayed he gets well soon and recovers.

Happy national day everyone and enjoy your holiday.
